ENTER THE DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS CONTEST FOR A CHANCE TO EXPLORE INDIA AND ALL ITS GLORY!

If you have always wanted to travel the vast expanses of India, or if you are a former volunteer who wants to revisit Shanti Bhavan, this is JUST the opportunity for you!

The Dollars for Scholars drive is recruiting supporters to donate and help make the Shanti Bhavan experience a reality for 210 students and a brand new incoming class of bright-eyed, vivacious pre-schoolers.

HERE ARE THE QUICK FACTS:

WHAT: An exciting fundraising contest open to anyone and everyone!

WHY: To help us reach our fundraising target of $365,000 for the year.

HOW: Recruit friends and family to donate the most $$$ to the campaign, through:

• A monthly recurring donation (a minimum of $31) auto-debited from a designated account, OR
• A one-time lump sum payment (a minimum of $360). 

WHEN: Make it happen from now until the April 7th, 2010! Shanti Bhavan will announce the winner on April 10th, 2010.

And finally,

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU: A free round-trip ticket to India, up to $1,300 in value, generously donated by the Intrepidus Group. Please note that:

• The winner will be responsible to book the ticket any time before December 31, 2010 for any future travel date and to any location in India.
• The winner will be reimbursed upon providing receipt of the booking.
• The ticket can be for you, or given to a friend.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO PARTICIPATE:

1. Let us know that you would like to participate by emailing sbscholars@gmail.com with the words "I'm competing in the Dollars for Scholars contest" in the subject line.
   
   
2. Tell your friends and family to support you! You can do this by writing an email to your friends about Dollars for Scholars and Shanti Bhavan, and by sharing the link to the Shanti Bhavan Facebook Page on your profile.
   
   
3. Have your friends and family go to our donation page and sign up with a debit/credit card for an auto-debited monthly recurring donation (a minimum of $31), or a one-time lump sum payment (a minimum of $360). As they sign up, have them fill in the following fields:
   
   • Designation: Dollars for Scholars
   • Dedication: Your name
   
   
4. Make sure they inform you of the dollar amount they donated.

AND IF YOU'RE STILL NOT CONVINCED…

For most of us, a dollar is nothing much. It might get us half our morning coffee or half our morning subway-ride. But at Shanti Bhavan, a dollar buys much more than that. Every dollar of your raised donations will go towards educating, feeding, housing and clothing the student body of Shanti Bhavan.
